Popis
Baohong tea, historically called Shi Li Xiang Cha (十里香茶), is the finest green tea from Yunnan Province with a long history. Back in the Tang Dynasty, the original tea tree was brought by monks from Fujian and planted in the Baohong Temple area. This tea is one of the tribute teas, the best teas from Yunnan, which were sent to the Chinese Emperor in ancient times! Baohong Mountain lies at an altitude of about 1600 meters.
In 1946 and later in the 1950s, most of the old trees were cut down. Today, a few old trees dating back 800 and 600 years can still be seen in the village near the temple. The original trees have been used to plant new gardens around the village. This tea is a small variety, quite different from most Yunnan teas.
Historically, the tea was used as a roll-shaped green tea, but in the last few decades it has been processed according to Longjing tea.
This tea was picked on March 20 and processed by hand in a wok.
